Thinking "green" continues to be a global trend. As consumers demand more environmentally sound products, manufacturers focus more intently on pollution prevention and eliminating waste in their products and processes. More and more of today's products are being manufactured with total or partial recycled content. At Innovative Resin Technologies (IRT), our respect for the environment is steadfast.

Using 100% recycled materials, we manufacture high quality, environmentally-friendly structural and non-structural components for industries such as Furniture, Bedding, Industrial Outdoor Equipment, Marine and Packaging. To create our compression-molded products, IRT uses ReTekŪ - a material resulting from a patented melting process of 100% post-consumer plastics and post-industrial waste. Its material source is that of food grade - not medical or bio-hazardous waste. There are no toxic byproducts associated with our production, and waste that we generate is recycled through our own process.

Every year, we divert more than 1,000,000 lbs. of waste once destined for landfills.

Consider This:
  • Every year Americans generate 29 million tons of plastic waste.
  • Approximately 85% is land filled, 8% incinerated and only 7% recycled.
  • Americans use 2.5 million plastic bottles every hour. Most of them are thrown away.
  • It takes 450 years for one plastic bottle to break down in the ground.
  • Plastic bags and other plastic garbage thrown into the ocean kill as many as one million marine animals every year, according to conservation and marine research experts.
  • Recycling programs don't always keep usable plastic out of landfills. The rules for recycling plastics are determined by technology as well as supply and demand. If no companies accept and reuse the "recycled" material, it will still end up in a landfill.
  • It is more difficult to recycle plastics than other materials, because there are several different types. Each type needs to be recycled separately.
  • Manufacturing items with recycled materials supports environmental sustainability, but often at a higher cost to the customer. IRT is challenging this common situation and leading the way with cost-effective, environmentally sustainable product solutions.
